| The Connection Between Mind, Body and Soul |
|
[Channeled, Aug 2009] The following was part of a series of wonderful questions asked in the Polaris Forum (in this post) which relate to conscious creation, the mind and brain, and most importantly, cats. Question: I would like to ask Karen and/or Polaris about the mind. There seems to be two schools of thought in this field. One being that the mind is merely and purely a product of the brain with no external influence or input. The other is a dualist idea and that the mind is a by product or extension of our soul? There is good reason that the three terms of "mind, body and soul" are often used together. Together, in our perception, they more or less express the entirety of that which is You. Your mind tends to be the more intellectually conscious aspect of that tripartite self that it is You. Your body has its own consciousness that most of you seldom listen to, but it is always communicating with you in one form or another. You think of yourself in terms of the "you" that you know yourself to be — as your mind. This is, in our perception, an expression of the fact that for a long time, socially and culturally, you have lived within a sphere where you regard one another as intellectual animals. Such was not always the case. In your distant past, you were able to communicate in other ways that had nothing to do with the mind and were more about the connection between bodies. In your distant future there was a lengthy period [tense variation intended!] wherein you communicated primarily in a soul-to-soul fashion.
The mind and body are both products of the physical plane. They only exist on the physical plane. The soul is more than that — it is that which is the eternal part of You. There could be semantics applied here in terms of what particular labels mean. But from our perspective we would call your mind the intellectual portion of that which is You. But because most of you are primarily incapable of processing information other than through that part of you which is the mind, it feels to you as if that is the sum total of who you are as a person. Understand, however, that your mind is merely a portion of all the consciousness that you possess. The brain is the organ in your body and is part of the consciousness of the body itself. The mind is not a product of the brain. The two are, in our perception, not the same thing. It is true the mind can be affected by brain imbalances: mind, body and soul are not separate. They are all that which is You. So, of course, one is affected by another. If, for instance, the soul is damaged, the damage will be reflected in either the mind or the body as damage there as well. All three parts of you are interconnected. Do you have general (non-personal) questions for Polaris? If so, please post them to the Polaris Forum.
