Polaris Quotes

" Any path toward greater self fulfillment will of necessity require examining yourself. It will also lead to greater self-awareness. Greater self-awareness leads to a greater among of a feeling of joy that is present for you all of the time. "

Energy Healing, a Personal Story
Written by Talyaa Liera
Tuesday, 09 June 2009 15:27

1057652_sunIt all started in New Zealand. Matthew and I spent nearly a month there this winter, and when we landed, groggy from 18 hours of flying, one of the first things that greeted us in the airport in Auckland was a rack of brochures extolling the virtues of all the exciting things to do in New Zealand. Kiwis are known for their active, open and friendly natures, and touristy activities reflect that: Whitewater Rafting! Cycling Treks! Skydiving!

"Matthew," I said as I suddenly knew the Next Big Thing on My Path, "I need to go skydiving."

I am deathly, unreasonably afraid of heights. I know it has a little to do with unresolved issues about having to throw my Inca infant off a cliff lifetimes ago, as well as probably several other past-life adventures, but truly, I'm okay with my little disability. So what if I get nervous on ladders? Do I really need to hang out on rooftops and cliff edges? I'm reasonably sure I can life a full life with those white knuckles, and hang gliding is pretty low on the list of Must-Do's this lifetime.

Matthew knows all this. After all, it was him gaily yelling, "We're going to die!" with a mischievious smile while I inched our rental car slowly up the side of Pike's Peak a couple of years ago, hugging the wall and trying not to think about hurtling to our certain deaths over the edge.

He looked at me. "Skydiving?" he asked. "Go for it!"

So I did it. It was awesome and frightening. Exhilarating. And when it was over, the clear next thing to do was to learn to ride a motorcycle. After all, hadn't I already braved certain death, free-falling from 15,000 feet above the Earth? Riding a motorcycle would be a piece of cake.

Took a class. Got the license. Bought the bike. Rode it around.

The end? Not quite. Here's where the story starts.

Ten days ago, I took a ride. When the sun comes out in this part of the country (Pacific Northwest), there's an obligation to take advantage of it. Eight months of nonstop rain will do that to you. So when it's sunny, everyone heads outdoors. I rode around, checked out a nearby lake, and on the way home made I plans for the afternoon: I had already had a run in the forest that morning, but getting on the bicycle would feel good.

A block from my house, I had an accident.

Only a little one, really. It involved me, and it involved the motorcycle falling on me. More specifically, falling on my foot with all its 350 pounds and bending that foot in a way that feet aren't designed to bend.

I knew right away I broke something.

Sure enough, later it was confirmed: stress fracture from compression. It hurt like hell. I mean, OW. Once the initial shock wore off, the pain set in. And ow. Triple, quadruple ow.

Fortunately, I'm not alone. I have friends. And I'm an energy healer. Healer, heal thyself.

My friend Linda, an amazing healer, worked on my foot. I felt it right away, and the pain subsided. Then I got Polaris involved. I was moving to a new home a few days later and needed mobility. There was no time for sitting around while things healed - I had packing to do!

That was ten days ago. I sat and let things heal for exactly one day. After two days I decided I could drive. After three days I was packing and moving. After four days I was riding my bicycle.

Today, I can put full weight on that foot and walk normally. In another week I'll be running again. You'd never know that ten days ago I broke a bone.

So what have I done that you can't do?

Nothing.

We ALL have the power to heal ourselves. It takes full belief in the possibility, though. It requires that you not hold any other beliefs that conflict. If I had needed real rest on some level, for instance, this healing would have been more difficult because it would have conflicted with the need for rest.

Healing yourself also requires a good connection to Self. The ability to listen to what it is that's being asked for, to what it is that is being presented to you in the situation, and not freak out from fear or pain. I found out that I needed to put energy toward asking for help, so I found a number of ways to do just that. Interestingly, it turned out that I didn't really need most of the help I asked for, but the asking changed the energy flow around that issue.  I was listening to my Self.

There's also Linda. She really is an amazing healer, and she helps many many people. I am grateful she is my friend.

And Polaris. Polaris tells everyone that they are available only for the asking, so if you need help Polaris will be there for you.

And, not uncoincidentally, just this week I officially unveiled — ta da! — two new and powerful services in energy healing.  Check it out!  Polaris and I have been working on this for a while, fine-tuning exactly what they wanted to give to the world in terms of healing, and building on my years as a Reiki Master. So you can have these amazing, life-shifting healing sessions, and (this is so awesome) you can get attuned yourself to the healing frequency Polaris uses, which is different from anything else out there. I'm so thrilled Polaris is bringing this to the world!  And everyone who gets attuned can spread it even further, bringing much-needed healing on every level to every part of the world. That's my dream, anyway, and it's Polaris' plan. And I am grateful to be a part of it.

I think we all have amazing healing stories. What's yours?

Energy Healers
written by AngelBaby, June 10, 2009
I love energy healing! I have a very dear friend that is an energy healer and I go to her as often as I can. It is amazing the way it works, just incredible. I have taken my granddaughter with me on several occasions and she tells everyone how good it works. There is nothing better.

I love you site and I will be back soon.

Love and Blessings,

energy healing

I don't know - as someone with a science background I know there's no double blind studies on it. On the other hand, I also know of hospitals who encourage energy healers to come in because it does honestly improve the healing response. Getting double blind studies takes funding, and the AMA has a knee-jerk reaction against anything alternative. Such is the medical system now.

It's amazing how many people think Jesus did heal the sick and raise the dead - and then disbelieve energy healing is possible. :-)

I think there's both truth in it and amazing results possible - as well as having some flaky individuals who proclaim they can heal anything and don't. Results are always impressive.

I look forward to the day when what we term "energy" or "life force" is measurable by science. Probably the worst scientific assumption that's commonly present is "if we can't measure it, it doesn't exist".

It's All Energy...
written by Aaron Whiston, July 04, 2009
I'd like to get some formal Reiki training. I've worked with energy for years informally from a martial arts background, channeling through the hands, extending with visualization, and so forth and I've had some very good results using dowsing as a healing tool.

But some hands-on training to focus and expand would be great. I'm encouraged to seek this out in 09.

What exactly is energy healing?
written by Herbert, July 06, 2009
This is my first time going on your site, and I must say that I'm quite impressed with the speedy progress -- which provokes the question "what exactly is energy healing?" Secondly, can energy healing work against illness? I've got this annoying cough that just won't go away, haha.

To recap this, you broke your foot when a motorcycle landed on it and you energy healed it? Within days? ...

I'm a fan of amazing healing stories. When is energy not the answer? (for example, if I accidentally cut off my thumb, is that a case where some stitching would be a good move? ... what's the map of the right tool for the job?)

Energy Healing
written by Matthew Spears, July 09, 2009
I think Energy Healing is great as complementary medicine for everything. It increases the body's own healing response. It can be used in co-operation with anything, including drugs.

If you mean use energy work exclusively, that's another question entirely. I would use energy work in co-operation with another insight tool when it's very clear that my problems have inner sources that I want to address. But it takes willingness: as a culture we tend to not believe in the power of inner work, which is a huge speed bump towards change.

What we can do with energy healing...
written by Karen Murphy, July 09, 2009
Herbert and J.D., your comments are similar so I'll approach them together.

Firstly, there's an article on the site What Is Energy Work http://www.polarisrising.com/w...-work.html for Polaris' perspective.

Secondly, and perhaps this will develop into an article of its own, what energy work can be used for depends widely upon the personal beliefs of the person involved and the circumstances. The body has the theoretic capability of healing itself instantly, but even I would be extremely surprised at someone regrowing a severed limb, say, in an instant. My belief system doesn't quite support that (although I think it'd be totally cool), although it does support healing broken bones quickly (rather than instantly).

It depends, then, what energy healing can be used for. It's impossible to heal someone else who does not choose healing. When learning Reiki, for instance, the very first thing learned is the fact that permission — on some level — must be gotten from the patient for healing to take place. This holds true for any sort of healing. Yes, it can be used to heal cancer (and there's lots of anecdotal evidence about people healing themselves of cancer), but if the person is choosing on some level, including on a soul level, to experience cancer then healing will be impossible. But again, it's theoretically possible to heal illness, cancer, and other diseases.

It's impossible also to heal yourself if you don't wish it for some reason. Reasons (on a soul level; we're usually not consciously aware of this) to wish illness could range from simply needing a rest to wishing to experience the act of receiving help to wishing to create physical changes in the body through illness.

Contraindications to energy healing? Again, most of us don't hold belief systems that allow for instantaneous healing. This has a lot to do with the culture we're in. So of course, if there's any sort of emergency you'd want to see a doctor or professional. There's also the issue of time involved ... it can take time to allow for energetic healing, especially if you're working through the other effects of it (energy healing of course affects one on a number of levels, not just physically). Also, there is a place for medications like antibiotics (woefully overused these days) so it's good to be judicious. If you're sick and just get too worn down to support your own healing, then it's time to seek help.

Great questions! Thanks for asking.

Karen
